Background

The Premio Somos Latin American Achievement Awards Canada is an annual award ceremony that recognizes those who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the Latin American community of Canada.

This year marks the fifth annual edition of this very special award ceremony which has evolved and expanded tremendously, quickly becoming a creditable point of reference for the entire Latin American Spanish-speaking community of Canada.  With categories specific to artists, athletes and professionals alike, this award show extravaganza also features special showcase performances by popular international and local Latin artists.

As the event with the single largest production budget within the Latin American community of Canada, the advertising campaign for the Premio Somos Latin American Achievement Awards Canada utilizes both community and mainstream media to reach over 700,000 people nationwide.

This prestigious award ceremony is organized on an exclusive invitation only basis.  The majority of invitations are distributed amongst members of the Premio Somos Latin American Achievement Awards Canada, which consists mainly of business owners, entrepreneurs and professionals of both the Latin American and Canadian community.

From the first year the award ceremony took place in 2001 where audiences filled the du Maurier Theatre which seats approximately 450, to this past September where over 2,000 guests filled Roy Thomson Hall, it was evident that the Premio Somos Latin American Achievement Awards Canada is an event with a tremendous potential for growth. 

This year we plan to continue expanding audiences by incorporating the participation of communities nationwide and once again featuring performances by internationally recognized Latin artists.
